NCC cadets of BPC College Piravom conducted a rally on 4th July 2017 to create awareness about Dengue fever. Mr. Sabu K Jacob, Chairman, Piravom Municipality flagged off the rally. Dr. Tiji Zachariah, Principal,Captain Dr. Sushan P K ANO, Ms. Aysha Madhav Vice Chairperson, Piravom Municipality and Mr. Jills Periyappuram, Councillor, Piravom Municipality were present. During this rally cadets created an awareness among people about the fever and ways to prevent it.
The objective of the procession was to appraise people on the serious consequences of diseases such as dengue, chikungunya, malaria, encephalitis, brain fever, and its preventive measures. While urging residents to consume only boiled water, the participants of the rally encouraged people to keep the surroundings clean by preventing dumping of garbage in drains, to clean choked drainage channels regularly to use mosquito nets and not allow water to stagnate around localities. On the way from Piravom Municipal office to BPC College Piravom cadets sprayed the mosquito repellent in the affected areas.
The cadets carried placards to create an awareness about the importance of cleanliness in shops and households en route.
After the rally cadets took part in the campus cleanliness drive at BPC College Piravom and cadets visited the nearby houses of BPC College to make the inmates aware about the Dengue fever.The cadets fixed banners about the awareness about the dengue fever at ideal locations. The one day campaign against Dengue fever concluded at BPC College campus.
