 Baselios Poulose II Catholicos College, Piravom, was founded in 1995 by the Malankara Syrian Jacobite Christian Education Trust, a non profitable organization of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the realm of education to the rural youth. The College is named after Late Lamented His Beatitude Baselios Poulose II, Catholicos of the East, who was known for his profound scholarship, social concerns and commitment to reform.

                Permanently affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, the College offers five undergraduate programmes in frontier areas viz. B.A. English with Journalism, B.C.A., B.B.A., B.Sc. Electronics & B.Com. with Computer Application, and two postgraduate programmes – Masters in Commerce and Management and M.Sc. Computer Science (Self-financing Stream). Ever since its inception, the Management, Members on the staff and  students were instrumental in introducing several innovative programmes and healthy practices in this campus which paved way to its culmination when the College was elevated to the top 10% category of academic institutions in the country, with the highest grade in NAAC assessment and accreditation.

                  The College takes pride in its achievements and looks forward to realizing its aspirations for the future, and is steadfast in its commitment to shape and transform young men and women into talented, disciplined, enthusiastic and hardworking citizens of India. The College is resolved to develop into a center of quality and excellence, imparting relevant and value based education to the rural youth.
