A NEW BIRTH
The dream of starting a college at Piravom under the management of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church came true with the approbation of His Beatitude Baselios Poulose II , Catholicos of the East. It was granted in the name of Baselios Poulose II as per the Govt. Letter No. 17365/B2/95 HE, dated 21-11-1995 and the sanction order was issued by the Mahatma Gandhi University as per U.O. No. ACA1/Affn/2084/95 , dated 28-11-1995. The realisation of the long-cherished dream of the church for starting a college at Piravom was due largely to the unflagging enthusiasm and unstinting support of Shri. T.M. Jacob, the then Hon’ble Minister for Irrigation and Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Kerala.
CONSECRATION
H.B. Baselios Poulose II , Catholicos of the East , consecrated the college in the presence of H.G. Dr. Geevarghese Mor Gregorios, H.G. Dr. Abraham Mor Severios, H.G. Geevarghese Mor Policarpos and H.G. Dr. Thomas Mor Athanasius on 1st December 1995. The College started functioning on 1st December 1995 in Santhinikethan Buildings of the Evangelistic Association of the East at Pazhoor. Prof. Baby M. Varghese was the founder principal. The college imparts value based and job oriented education to the generations irrespective of caste and creed.
COURSE INAUGURATION
The courses were officially inaugurated on 11th December 1995 by Shri. T.M. Jacob, the then Hon’ble Minister in the presence of H.B. Baselios Poulose II, the founder manager. The B.B.A. class began on the same day with 53 students, and the classes for B.C.A. with 48 students and B.Sc. Electronics with 34 students commenced on 18 December 1995.
COLLEGE INAUGURATION
The college was formally inaugurated by Shri. E.T. Muhammed Basheer, Hon’ble Minister for Education, on 14 March 1996. Shri. T.M. Jacob, Shri. P. P. Thankachan, H. G. Dr. Abraham Mor Clemis, H.G. Dr. Gheevarghese Mor Gregorios , H.G. Thomas Mor Dinysius, H.G. Yuhanon Mor Philaxinos, H.G. Yohanon Mor Meletius , H.G. Dr. Thomas Mor Athanasius, H.G. Joseph Mor Gregorios, Shri. V. J. Poulose M.L.A., Shri. Johny Nelloor M.L.A., Shri. K. Babu M.L.A., Shri K. Jayakumar IAS (Vice Chancellor), Shri V.P. Joy IAS (Collegiate Education Director), Prof. C. Poulose (Panchayat President) and thousands of people were present on the occasion. H.B. Baselios Poulose II presided over the inaugural function.
