His Beatitude Baselios Poulose II was born on 12 June 1914, as the second son of Mrs.Elizabeth and Rev.Fr.Joseph Puthussery,at Cherai. The spiritual atmosphere in his home deeply influenced the young Poulose. P.J. The dream of starting a college at Piravom under the management of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church came true with the approbation of His Beatitude Baselios Poulose II , Catholicos of the East. It was granted in the name of Baselios Poulose II as per the Govt. Letter No. 17365/B2/95 HE, dated 21-11-1995 and the sanction order was issued by the Mahatma Gandhi University as per U.O. No. ACA1/Affn/2084/95 , dated 28-11-1995.The realisation of the long cherished dream of the church for starting a college at Piravom was due largely to the unflagging enthusiasm and unstinting support of Shri. PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

The College, permanently affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, offers five undergraduate programmes in frontier areas in Arts, Business Administration, Science and Technology viz. BA English with Journalism, BCA, BBA, B.Sc. Electronics & B.Com. with Computer Application, and two postgraduate programmes - M.Sc. Computer Science and M.Sc. Electronics.

INFRASTRUCTURE

ST. GREGORIOS CHAPEL
A beautiful chapel has been constructed adjacent to the college building on the Baselios Mount under the able leadership of the management and the former Principal Prof. Capt. A.P. Eldho. The foundation stone of the chapel was laid by H.B. Baselios Thomas I, Catholicos of India on 23rd July, 2004 in the presence of the college Manager H.G. Joseph Mor Gregorios Metropolitan, Secretary to the Holy Synod and Commander T.M. Jacob, Member of Legislative Assembly. The Chapel was consecrated by H.B. Baselios Thomas I, the Chairman of the Education Trust and H.G. Joseph Mor Gregorios Metropolitan on 5th April 2005. Morning worship is being conducted at 9:10 am on all Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
College Bus
In order to cater to the travelling needs of the staff and students, college bus facility is made available. Currently we have five bus routes. They operate between Kothamangalam, Ernakulam, Kolenchery, Vaikom and Thiruvankulam. These services are given in a no profit - no loss basis, extending substantial reduction in fare to the student community.
Mother Teresa Women’s Hostel
College offers hostel facilities to girl students. Students from different parts of the state/country make use of this facility. The general administration of the college hostel is co-ordinated by Reverent Sisters. The hostel committee looks after the hostel mess which functions on dividing system. Hostel Advisory Board, with the Principal as the Chairman, monitors the regular activities of the hostel. Principal is the chief warden of the hostel.
College Canteen
College extends canteen facility to the students and staff. It serves snacks, soft drinks, meals etc. The items are given at subsidised rate to the Staff and Students. A canteen committee, appointed by the Principal, is monitoring the regular activities of the canteen.

Baselios Poulose II Catholicos College Research Cell, in association with all the departments launches a research Journal The Prescient. It is a thinking space for the BPC academic community and is conceptualised as an arterial route for furthering knowledge production transnationally.
